DALLAS, April 24, 2019 — Children’s Health℠, the eighth largest pediatric health care provider in the nation and the leading pediatric health care system in North Texas, has purchased a 72-acre parcel of land at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and Hwy 380 in Prosper, Texas, to build a medical campus to better serve the rapidly growing pediatric population in the region.
Children’s Health is committed to investing in the North Texas community, and is expanding its high-quality health care to the town of Prosper and the surrounding areas of Collin and Denton counties. The pediatric health care system has future plans to offer pediatric health care services on the site as well as to develop an array of corporate, hospitality and retail products to create a community medical campus.
“Prosper is regionally significant and integral to the long-term strategy of Children’s Health,” said Jeremiah Radandt, executive vice president of the Northern Market for Children’s Health. “We have always sought-after the best ways to serve and invest in the community. By building this unique medical campus, we are broadening how we bring health care to North Texans, and better serving the needs of our patients for the future.”
Children’s Health plans to select a master developer as a partner through a competitive bidding process for all non-health care related development, including public-private projects with the town of Prosper. The acreage was purchased from Matthews Southwest as part of Matthews Southwest’s 177-acre mixed-use development.

The project will offer high quality health care for our younger residents as well as the benefit of high-end commercial development at one of Prosper’s key intersections for economic growth.”
This announcement is the latest example of the long-standing commitment from Children’s Health to North Texas. Most recently, Children’s Health announced a 10-year sponsorship with Prosper ISD to become its Official Pediatric Health Care Partner, which includes naming rights to the school district’s premier athletic complex opening in August, educational and promotional collaborations between the two entities, and a full spectrum of sports medicine, athletic health care and virtual health services for schools and youth sports organizations in the Prosper ISD service area. Children’s Health also recently opened Specialty Center 2 on its Plano campus that includes the Children’s Health Andrews Institute for Orthopedic & Sports Medicine and announced the opening of two Children’s Health PM Urgent Care locations in late 2018.
In 2008, Children’s Health Plano opened as a comprehensive satellite facility as an extension of its Dallas hospital’s academic medical center operation, and became widely lauded as the first suburban children’s hospital of its kind. Today, Children’s Health Plano serves North Texas with a full-service pediatric hospital offering a 24/7 emergency room, and more than 30 specialty care services, including a variety of multidisciplinary pediatric health and wellness services, such as the Children’s Health spine program. Since its opening, it has earned recognition by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center as a Magnet facility with its nurses ranking among the top 8 percent in the country for excellence in patient care. In addition, Children’s Medical Center Plano has been named Top Hospital by The Leapfrog Group. This prestigious designation recognizes hospitals across the country for excellence in quality of care and patient safety.
