DALLAS, Nov 25, 2014 — Children’s Health℠ one of the nation’s leading pediatric health systems, announced it has named Lawrence L. Foust, J.D., LL.M., MBA, executive vice president and chief legal officer and general counsel.
Foust began in September at Children’s Health and oversees the Legal Affairs and Governance Department.
“Larry has a solid history and knowledge of reimbursement, licensing and accreditation, real estate, risk management, medical staff and managed care issues,” said Christopher J. Durovich, president and chief executive officer of Children’s Health. “He has strong governance experience and in his previous position, he served as chief legal advisor to a 75-member Board of Trustees and all of its committees.”
Most recently, Foust served at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. He possesses both corporate and health care experience and has also served with healthcare organizations such as CHRISTUS Health and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. He was also a shareholder in the Houston office of Jenkens & Gilchrist.
Foust was also one of the first attorneys in Texas to be recognized as a specialist in health law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Author of numerous publications and book chapters and articles, Foust is frequently invited to address the American Health Lawyers Association. His presentations and publications cover many topics including

Foust is also Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rated. Foust graduated magna cum laude and with honors from Duke University. He holds J.D. degree and a master’s degree in law from the University of Virginia School of Law. He has been a fellow at the University Of Virginia School of Law and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Foust received his MBA from the University of St. Thomas and has been licensed to practice law in Virginia, Texas and California.
