DALLAS, Aug 19, 2019 — Children’s Health℠, the eighth-largest pediatric health care provider in the nation and leading pediatric health care system in North Texas, has announced Tammy R. Webb, MSN, RN, NE-BC, as its new executive vice president and chief nursing officer, overseeing the system-wide clinical practice of nursing.
“Tammy embodies the clinical nursing, strategic planning and hospital administration expertise necessary to successfully fulfill this multifaceted position, bringing nearly three decades of experience ranging from bedside nursing to nursing leadership,” said David Berry, system clinical and scientific operations president at Children’s Health. “With a demonstrated history of strategic leadership and collaboration, we are thrilled to have her join the team and support our mission to make life better for children.”
In her role as executive vice president and chief nursing officer, Webb will be responsible for leading the nursing strategy and driving operational excellence for all patient care services at Children’s Health, while fostering a culture of patient- and family-centered care and advancing the vision for nursing and performance excellence to new levels.
Webb joins Children’s Health from Arkansas Children’s Hospital where she spent 27 years building a dynamic career in nursing excellence. Most recently, she served as vice president of Patient Care Services. She began her career in 1992 as a registered nurse and advanced to roles of increasing responsibility. She moved into her first director position in 1998 in the Heart Center, later becoming Director of Clinical Operations for Ambulatory Care Services and then Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Professional Development.
As a nursing leader, Webb was instrumental in helping Arkansas Children’s Hospital earn the coveted Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, as well as in establishing the transition-to-practice residency program for nurses. As vice president of Patient Care Services, she led operations for Acute Care Services and later guided the growth and expansion of the comprehensive service lines for the David M. Clark Heart Center, Hematology Oncology and Neuroscience services at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Regularly participating in several national and international organizations, Webb is committed to community service. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, former President of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Gamma Zi Chapter and served on the executive leadership team for the American Heart Association. She also has served on the national committee for Children’s Hospital Solutions for Patient Safety for several years.
Webb received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Services, a master’s of science degree in nursing from Excelsior College, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing at the University of Arkansas.
