DALLAS, Jan 28, 2014 — Children’s Medical Center, the sixth-largest pediatric health care provider in the nation, has earned Common Security Framework (CSF) Certified status for information security by the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST). HITRUST was established to ensure information security is a core pillar in the broad adoption of health information systems and exchanges.
CSF Certified status represents that the organization has met industry-defined requirements and is appropriately managing risk, and places Children’s in an elite group of organizations worldwide that have earned this certification. This designation comes after an extensive process that involved independent third-party auditors assessing more than 260 IT security checks across 19 different areas of Children’s organization.
“This is a significant accomplishment for our organization,” says Pamela Arora, Children’s vice president and chief information officer. “We are proud of our IT security team for their hard work, dedication and tireless efforts to ensure Children’s IT security is among the best in the world.”
